The Young Christian Students and Young Students Movement had celebrated its Ycs/Ysm talent exposure program in commemoration of the Founder Cardinal Joseph Cardijn on 23th November2012, Friday at Archdiocesan Pastoral Centre, Santhome, Chennai-4.

There were nearly 200 participants and 25 animators from over 20 Ysm units. The event began with the inaugural program, Rev. Bro. Charles, from Santhome Cathedral Basilica was invited as the chief guest for the day .The lighting of the lamp which marks the significance was lit up followed by the Welcome Address given by Fathimi, The Regional Representative of the Movement.

Felicitations were made to the chief guest. Then our chief guest was invited to present the days special address and was followed by the vote of thanks was given by Allan Paul, Secretary –Ycs Ysm.

Then was followed by the introduction of the judges and the rules of the competition .Various competitions such as the extempore, collage, quiz and drawing were conducted .Intense clash between each and every unit bringing the best of each participants. Then the students broke out for lunch.

The afternoon session was headed by Madam Asha who through group dynamics made the students to participate and enjoy with some interesting activities.

The concluding program began around 3.30pm. Rev. Fr. Gregory Devarajan, Principal, St. Gabriel’s Broadway was invited as the chief guest for the program along with the special invited guests Madam Saraswathi, from The Hindu and Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes, The National Chaplain of YCS/YSM . The Prayer song was rendered by the students of St. Antony’s Girls Hr. Sec. School, Mandaveli. The welcome address was given by Pradeep Raj, the Diocesan president of the Movement. Felicitations were made and the chief guest and the guests of honor shared their words of appreciation for the students and the animators.

And finally Rev Fr. Clement Bala, the Diocesan Director of the YSM Movement , Chennai was invited to present the official vote of thanks thus thanking everyone who made this event a grand success. Special thanks to Mr. Leo Joseph from YCSYSM India, Mr. Louis Ignatius, Ms. Laranzia, Mr. Vijay Raj , Mr. Dominic Savio, Mr. Allen Vijay, Ms. Bhavani , Mr. Dominic Savio and Mr. kamal Francis the Coordinators of the Movement

The curtains were brought down by singing the Movement Song thus marking the significance of a great beginning!!!
