Chennai, July 5: The Young Christian Students/ Young Students Movement organised its Leadership training program on 23rd Saturday 2012.The day began with a small ice-breaking by Mr. Kamal followed by the Inaugural Program. Rev. Fr. Ignatius Thomas was invited as the Chief-Guest for the day. A verse from the Holy Bible was read by Shawn, followed by the Lighting of the Lamp. Then was followed by a very special important act THE OATH as LEADERS what they are going to achieve in the Society .The Welcome address was rendered by Ms. Laranzia, National Exco who spoke about the Importance of the Leadership training program. Then our Chief Guest was invited to present his address .He signified the Importance of Leaders in the Present Generation and what do they gain being Leaders through YCS/YSM. Through an Awareness Song he showed that we are yet to find an HUMAN-BEING in this world.

 

 

 

 

 

 


The Inaugural Programme was immediately followed by the First Session. Mr. L. Abragam   Lincoln, Director Udayam Foundation was invited as the Resource Person for this session. Mr.Kamal initially started on the Topic on who is a Leader? Bringing out the various qualities of a Leader, he summed up the necessary qualities which a leader needs to possess in the world to achieve greatness and also with a video of the Famous Failures which was a great change in them. Mr. Lincoln then took it from there bringing out the various types of Leadership .He stressed upon the Importance of being a better leader and how YCS/YSM makes you a better leader. An action song was taught by which the students had broke out for Lunch.

 

 

 

 


The students had returned from Lunch and the next session based on what is YCS/YSM? was taken by Ms. Laranzia, The National Exco. Through a Power point presentation she brought out the History, Structure, The Movement’s Objective & the Methodology. She explained the various aspects of Life in YCS/YSM and how an YCSer makes a difference among others. The students then broke out for a short break. The Next session was a very important session which was about the Roles & Responsibilities of DEXCO Members. Mr. Kamal, Mr. Leo & Mr. Deepak explained to the students about the responsibilities of DEXCO Members in detail, by which through a personal selection the Next Diocesan Executive Committee for the YEAR 2012-2013 was formed The Concluding Programme began around 4 pm. The New DEXCO team was introduced by the Diocesan Chaplain Rev. Fr. Clement Bala. A small token of appreciation was given to the newly elected members as well as to the old Team Members.

 

 

 

 

 

The Vote of Thanks was given by Mr. Kamal thanking all the People who made the event a grand success. Many thanks to all the Animators & Students who attended this Programme and to the LOC’s Mr. Vijay, Mr. Leo, Mr. Deepak & Ms. Laranzia. Special thanks to our Resource Persons Mr. Lincoln and Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes, the National Chaplain who made this Programme a grand success. Finally the day was concluded with the Movement Song signifying the end of a great beginning.

ANIMATORS SPECIAL SESSION


The Animators had a special session on the eve of the Leadership training programme. Around 35 animators participated in this session. The first session was held by Rev.Fr. Clement Bala who had spoken about who is an animator? He stressed upon the Importance of why Animators are required and why the Animators play a very crucial role when it comes to student reality. Through an activity he brought out the qualities which an animator needs to have and they broke out for Lunch. In the 2nd session Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes, the National Chaplain emphasized the role of an Animator in YCS/YSM. He urges the importance of an animator in YCS/YSM. He had given some tips and guidelines on their relationship with students. The session was concluded with a small action song. A discussion on Finance and Contribution was discussed by Mr. Kamal Francis, for the growth of the Diocesan movement.
