North Eastern Regional Youth Commission (NERYC) organised the First Regional Convention of Young Catholic Students/Young Students Movement (YCS/YSM) North East Region in St. Lawrence Parish, Ramthar Aizawl Diocese. Student Delegates from 7 states of North East India participated in this Convention.

The Inaugural Ceremony of the convention started with Flag Hoisting ceremony on 17th March at 4:00pm in which Most Rev. P.K. George, Chairman of NERYC & Bishop of Miao as well as Most Rev. Stephen Rotluanga, Bishop of Aizawl hoisted the National Flag & YCS Flag respectively.
The program was followed by the inauguration of Diocese stalls that showed the richness and diversity of the region by different dioceses. This was followed by the Inaugural by Most Rev. P.K George ( Bishop of Miao & Chairman NERYC).
The day ended with a Cultural program by the host diocese. The presence of Rev. Fr. Chethan Machado who also delivered the keynote address and the presence of YCS/YSM former members made this event more delightful.
