The training on youth animation was held at Imphal Archdiocese on 10th Apr 2015 at Retreat Centre for the Priests of the diocese. 15 Priests and 6 sisters attended this programme. Archbishop Dominic Lumon was present throughout the programme. Fr. Athew Maheo had organized this programme to set the youth ministry in order. Archbishop during his welcome address briefed about the reality of Imphal diocese and the ethnic reality over there.
Fr. Franklin gave the introductory talk as to how to make our ministry as a mission, citing a lot of examples from the Bible and society.
Then Fr. Charles gave a detailed talk on, Why YCS/YSM for the teenagers, what is YCS/YSM and Cell meeting. He clarified the difference between traditional catechesis lessons with the methodology of YCS/YSM. If adopted it would be effective to understand the faith formation in the right manner. Many questions were raised as how to organize this movement in the diocese and were clarified. In his concluding remarks Archbishop said that this movement is recognized by CBCI and the methodology is very apt for the teenagers and asked the Priests and sisters to put it into action as soon as possible to target and cater to the spiritual needs of all the teenagers of the Archdiocese.
Fr. Mathew thanked all the participants and Fr. Franklin thanked all for giving this opportunity to address the clergy of the archdiocese as to put the youth ministry into proper order. Fr. Charles asked the Archdiocese to introduce YCS/YSM movement in schools and parishes for the age group of 13 to 18 immediately and promote them to MCYO.
