My friends, I am sure that you would be busy preparing for your examination. Come, the month of March, it brings with it, the exam fever. So I just thought that I could share a few tips.

First of all, plan your studies. The saying goes “Failing to plan is planning to fail”. Even if it is one week, plan it up, so that you don’t miss out on anything.

Do not neglect any subject (i.e.) give equal importance to all subjects. Don’t give priority to one subject, since it is easy, while neglecting the other, because it is difficult. Rather, take up the difficult subjects first. Don’t postpone for tomorrow, whatever you can do today. Tomorrow will have enough troubles of its own. ‘Procrastination is the thief of time’ the saying goes. Even tomorrow or day after, that has to be completed by you. No one else is going to study for you. Prioritise your activities. Avoid TV, cinemas, long phone calls, outings, chatting with friends, etc. After all you are going to avoid them just for a month. Is it that difficult to stay without them? Just think of the children on the streets. Do they have all these comforts? Do they study? Can they read this article? No, you are lucky to be whatever you are. Be thankful and don’t waste it. Stay cool – don’t get tensed up. Always remember, “God never gives us more burdens than we can’t handle”. He knows how much we can bear? He will not burden us more than that Relax and stay calm. Don’t be anxious to do things. Have self-confidence in yourself but not over confidence. Believe that you can do it and you are going to do it. Eat well and sleep well. I know many students who have missed their examinations because they are tensed up and do not eat or sleep. Do you know where they land up finally? Not in the examination hall but in the hospital. Always think positive. Never ever have recourse to negative thinking. Last but not the least; pray, pray, pray, ‘Prayer brings Victory’ always. Be it before you sit for study, be it during study or be it before beginning your examination; say a small prayer in your own words, to the God of your own understanding. Remember, your parents have done so much for you! They brought you up, given you all facilities and love you so much. They don’t expect anything in return, except your good marks. If not for you, at least be good and study well to make them happy.

If you follow all these points, I’m sure victory is always yours and you are a winner.

Best wishes for your examinations.

Yours always in YCS/YSM,
Deepak Raj
