The Diocesan Youth convention 2016

Yuvamitra - the Youth Commission of the Diocese of Shimoga had convened 5th Diocesan Youth Convention on 28th-30th October 2016 at Sacred Heart Cathedral Campus at Shimoga. There were 650 youth of ICYM, YCS/YSM and Don Bosco Youth actively participated in this event. This three day long Convention consisted of different activities like Teachings of the Church, Interactive Work Shops, Youth Masses & meditations, Awesome Music, Group Dynamics, Cultural Evening, Faith Walk, Youth Rally for Peace, Swatch Bharath Andholan and awareness program with Street play in Public Places.
The Dignitaries and the Resource persons were Most. Rev. Dr. Henry D’Souza, Chairman of CBCI Youth Commission, India and Bishop of Bellary Most. Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao SJ, Chairman of Yuvamitra, Youth Commission, Diocese of Shimoga; Shree. Basava Marulasidda Swamiji, Charamurthigalu Basavakendra, Shimoga; Fr. Deepak KJ Thomas OCD, National Youth Director, New Delhi; Fr. Gilbert Lobo, Parish Priest, Cathedral Parish, Shimoga; Mr. Kimmane Ratnakar, Former Education Minister, Government of Karnataka; Mr. Prasanna Kumar, MLA, Shimoga; Mr. Arun Furtado K.A.S, Under Secretary of the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Bangalore; Mr. Vinncent Shantha Kumar, Addition Superintendent of Police, Shimoga; Mr. Syed Mujibulla, Member of district Waqf Board, Shimoga; Fr. Franklin D’Souza, Former National Youth Director, Parish Priest, Harihara Mathe Shrine, Harihar; Fr. Stany D’Souza Chancellor of the diocese of Shimoga and Director of Education Commission Shimoga; Mr. Raymond D’Souza, Former ICYM National Adviser, Bombay; Mr. William Martis, Director Karnataka Fisheries Development Corporation, Government of Karnataka; Mr. K. Ranganath, Director KADA, Government of Karnataka; Ms Jovita D’Souza Former YCS NEXCO; Mr. Roshan Lobo Former YCS NEXCO.
The program was organized by ICYM and YCS/YSM diocesan office bearers under the able leadership of Rev. Fr. Ronald Veigas, Diocesan Youth Director of Shimoga.
