The Young Catholic Students/ Young Students Movement of Archdiocese of Madras- Mylapore had organized its YCS/YSM General Body Meet along with Annual day on 30th January 2015 Friday at Archdiocesan Pastoral Centre with 114 students along with 20 Animators from 13 schools alone participating. The day began with the inaugural programme presided over by Mr. Jayarao CH, a former AICUF’er who is presently working through theatre skills, the welcome address was rendered by Rachel, the Diocesan President who specified the significance of the program after which was followed by a welcome dance by YSM’ers of Immaculate heart of Mary Mat. Royapettah Unit. After which was followed by the Chief Guest Address in which he spoke the significance of soul, how you motivate yourself to be the best of what you are.
The students gathered for the 1st Session on the Theme “My Future is in my hands”, presided over by Mr. Tamil Selvan, Former Editor of Regional Magazine Thudippu, as the Resource Person who spoke on how important it is to be the change, wherein quoting the significance of great leaders. The students were inspired by an energizing address which was filled by various thoughts from the literature and aspects for life. The Animators had an SMALL DISCUSSION wherein the Annual Plan for the Forthcoming Programs were drafted.
After which the students broke out for a break
In the Next Session the students gathered on theme “My Role for a better society” wherein the Diocesan Joint secretary Mr. Sandeep had presented the Annual Report of the activities that took place in the diocese , after which the unit presidents had presented their report which was clarified and made into a conclusion and was passed. After which the Diocesan Chaplain presented the finances for the various programmes made which was clarified and passed.
Then the Annual Plan was read out and was discussed and passed. After which the students broke down for lunch.
The Post Noon Session with the Group Dynamics which was led by Mr.Ebin Navis, the National EXCO which was followed by the Concluding Annual Day Celebration which was presided over by Fr. Milton MMI a former Alumni of YCS/YSM Chennai. The welcome address was rendered by Mr. Sandeep, Diocesan Joint Secretary, which was followed by a welcome dance by St. Josephs. Mat Hr. Sec School Ambattur Unit after which felicitations made to the chief guest and was followed by his address wherein he quoted the ultimate significance of what YCSYSM is , quoting upon the various life of great personalities who made a change being simple, finally ending up a poem on self change, which was followed by felicitations to animators for their committed service made for the growth of the student community and to the DEXCO’S who led from front and made this day a grand success. The Vote of Thanks was rendered by Rachel, Diocesan President thanking all who participated and made this day a memorable one.
The final words were spoken by Fr. Varghese Rozario who thanked all the Animators, Correspondents, AHM’S and Parents and to the Dexco team for making the event a meaningful success.
The Curtains were brought down with the YCSYSM Anthem.!
