A Report By Fr. Varghese Rozario, Diocesan Chaplain, YCS/YSM Chennai
       
There was a training program for the YCS/YSM newly elected student leaders organized by the Archdiocesan Young Catholic Students, Young Student’s Movement of Chennai Archdiocese which was held on 18/7/14, Friday at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Centre. There were around 50 students and 10 animators from various schools near the locality. The program started with a prayer service, Rev Fr. Mani Lazar was invited as the Resource Person for the session. The first session was on Education Vs Change To The Context Of Student Milieu, where the present day role of students were spoken and how a student can be a major change maker in the modern day world. Then the students were sent for tea break.

   
After tea break there was action song by Mr. Ebin Navis, National Exco YCS/YSM followed by a session on Impact on YCS/YSM on Teen Agers spoken by Adv Mrs. Rekha Suresh, former YCS/YSM’er who shared her experiences on how she was an active member in her YCS days which made an everlasting impact throughout her life. There were discussions and every participant shared their insights with regards to the session. Then the student’s had brokedown for lunch.
   
After lunch an action song was taught by Fr. Varghese Rozario the Diocesan Chaplain which was followed by the session on YCS/YSM for Life spoken by Mr. Rajesh Chacko, former YCS/YSM’er .The session went through with an activity pondering upon the values of YCS/YSM and the impact which it had to the leaders. He shared upon how YCS can bring a great change through them in their family, school & in the society.
   
It was a surprise visit made by Fr. Bernard Lawrence the Director of Diocesan Pastoral Centre who shared his experiences of making leaders for a change. The curtains were brought down with the YCS/YSM anthem.
   
The final words were spoken by Fr. Varghese Rozario the diocesan chaplain who thanked all the animators and the participants for making the event a better learning experience
