Dear Lord
I want to be a happy student.
Let me find happiness in my studies
in the books I read in the projects I prepare
in the lessons I study in the games I play
and in the attention I get from my teachers.
Let me find happiness at home
in my relationships with my parents,
brothers, sisters and other relatives
and also in the errands, odd jobs
and in all the little things
I do in the house.
Let me find happiness
in my friendships with my companions
in such a way
as to share their happiness
when they are happy but if they are sad
to share also their sorrow.
I know that when I share
my happiness with others,
that happiness is doubled
and when I share
in their sorrow that sorrow is halved.
I have experienced
a number of times already
that when I sow seeds of happiness
in my neighbor’s heart I see them blooming
in my own heart as well even in such small things as lending a pencil, a ruler
or just forming a smile on my lips.
I strive to be happy not only
when everything is plain sailing
but also when the going is rough.
I know, dear Lord, that you never sleep
nor slumber and you are always watching over me so that you will not let me stumble, slip or fall in such a way
as to lose my happiness
Help me that every now and then
I manage to find some quiet moments
when I can notice all the good things
that come my way bringing to my happiness more happiness
and let me be appreciative and grateful
for all of them.
I thank you

dear Lord
for my happiness.
