All of us have lost a great personality. From the day we got the news about the Pope that he was keeping indifferent health, we stormed the heavens to bring our Holy Father back to his normal health, to see the head of the Catholic Church sitting at the Vatican window, extending his papal blessings to all who gathered in thousands and to the world.

Our ‘Pap Saib’ as we know did not have a bed of roses. He lost his beloved mamma during his early childhood, his pappa and the lone brother also left him in the powerful hands of the almighty. But little Karol was not alone in this world. His mother’s prayers and the blessings of the Father followed him till the end.

Karol underwent all the possible sufferings during his early days, definitely the German Hitler’s Nazi rule and the communist reign of Stalin gave him a strong back-bone to lead the catholic community in the coming years then. The bullet of Ali Agca proved his forgiving heart to the world. Young and saintly visit of John Paul to his murderer in the jail exposed his loving attitude to the humanity.

Our beloved Holy Father was a person with a large heart, he always embraced and kissed the innocent babies. His love for youth was immense. Whenever his holiness visited any country, he went on his knees to kiss the soil to express his love for the people those who lived there.

A man of prayer, his faith in God and trust in Mother Mary took him close to humanity and to the suffering world. The Holy Father appreciated his priests and the clergy. This is proved in his message to the priests an Maundy Thursday.

John Paul II was a man of prayer. His virtues of love, caring and understanding are outstanding. It is beyond comprehension that he is no more with us but the saint of our time is interceding for us at the gates of heaven. “The virtuous man will bloom like a lily”.
