What is the status of women in India today? Ours is a male dominated society. Women are treated as second class citizens. They are not given their rights. Women should be
educated. They should be encouraged to take up jobs. With education and employment they become independent and confident.
The Changing Scenario:
More and more women are getting educated. These days women compete with men in many fields. More and more women take up positions and jobs such as administrators, pilots, engineers, IT professionals….
Programme of Action:
Self help groups and mathar/mahalir sangams to be established. Fight against the evils of illiteracy, dowry system and female infanticide. Women should be encouraged to play active part in politics and nation building.
Both men and women should work for the empowerment of women. When women are empowered, the home and nation will develop and prosper.
