We use water to grow crops and in our daily lives. Rivers, lakes and ponds are sources of water. We cannot drink sea water because it is too salty. All those water bodies support life. Different kinds of fishes, crocodiles, turtles and marine plants live in water. When we pollute water, all living things on earth will be affected.

CAUSE OF WATER POLLUTION: The most serious cause of water pollution is sewage and wastes from factories. The dirty water from our homes is let into the sea or river. Factories along the sea coast and along river let out dirty water and poisonous wastes into the sea and the river. When animals or people drink the river water they fall ill. When people cut down trees in the forests, the top soil and sand are washed away by rain. Rivers get dumped with the soil and cause floods. The soil in the forest and soil on land where flood occur become poor. Crops do not grow well on such land.

CONSERVATION: We must use water carefully and not waste it. We must recycle water. All factories must treat or clean the water they use so that they can use it again. The sewage from our homes must be treated before it is let into the sea or river. We must also find methods to use river. We must also find methods to use rain water to increase the water level underground.

WATER POLLUTION:

Living things need water for survival. We use water for our day to day activities. Rivers, lakes and ponds are sources of water. All these water bodies support life. Polluting water, results in the extinction of aquatic and reptile creatures.

Amongst all causes of water pollution, factories and manufacturing industries play a major spoil-sport, as they dump all their wastes into the nearby sea, rivers or ponds. Consequently all those who use this infected water are affected.

Therefore to avoid all these problems, industrial wastes should be recycled to the best possible means. All the factories must treat their properly before dumping. Moreover, measures should be taken to make the maximum usage out of rain water, so as to avoid unnecessary usage of ground level water.
