India is a Democratic country. India is also a country of traditions, customs and languages. India with its traditionally strong background was ruled by different kings and later was exploited by the Britishers who invaded her on the pretext of trade. When India got its independence after a long freedom struggle (for which a large number of people sacrificed their lives) the need for a democracy arose. Hence a democratic constitution took birth which changed the political scenario of India. The constitution of India was formulated by Dr. Ambedkar which started the era of democracy.

Election is an important factor in a democracy. Elections help us to elect eminent and service minded people to rule the country. Now what is the duty of these elected members in a democratic country? The first and foremost duty is to safeguard the interest of the nation. The present scenario of our political leaders is beyond compare. Only a few leaders are sincere and honest and duty conscious whereas others who promise to do good only begin to indulge in anti social activities, criminalization of politics and corruption. Leaders make a lot of vain promise. They are not interested in the common man’s plight like the hike in our day to day commodities

India is a developing country but, are our leaders really making an effort to make it a developed country. “No!” while the leaders of the past sacrificed their lives to maintain a united India, today most of the politicians will go the extra mile just to undo what they were striving for.

What are we the youth going to do to revert the situation of our country? Are we just going to sit back and watch criminals, power crazy psychopaths and religious fanatics rip us apart? No! Never! Arise my young friends to the call of patriotism and take up the reigns of this country. ‘Let India shine in the hands of the youth’ should be our 21st century slogan. Jai Hind!.
