Children are precious gifts bestowed by the Almighty. We feel the immense presence of God, the creator of the universe in children. The most significant part of any person’s life is his childhood.
Jesus said, “Unless you become like little children, you cannot enter the kingdom of God”. (Mt 18:3)
God’s kingdom is a place of perfect bliss. In this world, we see a lot of evil prevailing because of the selfish deeds of wicked men. No one is born wicked or evil. It is the improper training or insufficient guidance of the elders that makes children become anti-elements of the society.
Children need perfect guidance to maintain their divine potentialities amidst all other influences. They should be instructed to follow the guidelines given by God in the Holy Scripture.
‘Children, give ear to your parents instruction and reject not their teaching’ then “A graceful diadem will they be for your head; a torque for your neck”, says the Holy Bible in Proverbs 1:9.
Nowadays people strive very hard in this competitive era to achieve great position and power but forget the ultimate purpose of life - “The True Happiness”
True happiness comes only from the hands of the Divine and on meditating the word of God day and night. According to Ephesians 6:1-3, Children, obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. “Honor your father and your mother” this is the only commandment with a promise, “that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life on earth”.
Every person wishes to live long. The only one who doesn’t is he who is the dejected and the depressed. He considers himself a failure but in the true sense no one can be a failure for we are all created in the image and likeness of the living God.
The book of Proverbs 23:22 say, “Listen to your father who begot you and despise not your mother when she is old”.
Parents often complain about their children’s behavior of disobedience. The actual problem is that of the parents, for, the children learn discipline not through their restriction, but by observing their life. Both parents should be a living example to their children. The values are caught easily by the children than they are taught.
“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up with the training and instruction of the Lord”. (Eph 6:4)
When God created man he breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. “The Spirit of God bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God”. If we are children of God, then we should live as the Son of God (Jesus Christ) lived and taught us to live “This is my commandment, love one another as I love you”. (John 15:12)
